I now have a EVGA 9800 GTX+ and would like to SLI another but cant find any quite like mine anywhere except tiger direct where it is unavailable. My 9800 GTX+ has 2 6-pin power connectors where all other evga GTX+'s only have 1 6-pin connector. My question is, does it matter if the two cards you SLI have different connectors. I would also like to know if there is a reason the double 6-pin is rarely seen.

That card is available in ncix usa and other store online. Search with some price comparaison tools you will find it.
But be cautious and check the manufacturer part number to be sure it's exactly the same card.Don't trust the description on the website sometime they're wrong.

They are right. A 9800GTX+ is a 9800GTX+ ... one or 2 6pin dont matter. new newer 9800GTX+ mostly have only one 6 pin.

I just returned my EVGA 9800GTX+ SC ( she FRIED ) to FuturShop. They dont had any EVGA on hand so i took 2 BFG's. Had a SLI in mind, the blow up devided me ;)

The BFG's have only one six pin, are lil smaller, and run WAY cooler for the SAME performance. My power meter show 450-475 watts on full gaming ( was 300-325watts with the EVGA card. ) Idle is 240watts vs 210watts with one card.

In game perf are Way better with the SLI. I can use AA AF @ 1650x1080 without any trouble now.

You can SLI this One six pin whit the 2 six pin. The 2 six pin only draw less current from each cable for the same result with one cable and more draw applyed...
