hi m8,
there is definatly somthing wrong there, my new 4870 gives me 90fps constant with max settings and a 22" monitor.
Did you change from the 8800gt to the 4870? if so then there might be driver conflicts, i had many problems with swapping from nvidia to ati, so in the end i just did a clean install.
but befor you do that have you updated to the latest drivers, i think they are 8.12 (thats what i am using)

alos what are the other componants of your pc, something may be holding the gpu back.
Your first upgrade should have been adding memory to your system. 2gb is not enough for newer games. My 9800GT (same as 8800G) plays Far Cry2 flawlessly at very high settings. Too bad the game sucks ass.

I kinda agree on the "sucks ass" part. What a disappointment this game was ... !!! What's even worse is that with a few changes it could have been GOTY material.
+1 to the game sucking hard. Sooooooo boring (this remark comes from a person that finished oblivion + expansions 2 times back to back the fallout3). Being big with good fx, doesn't make a game good.

i strongly agree. the setup for the story allowed for a much deeper and more interesting plot, and the game is so unoriginal. every mission involves you going somewhere and shooting everybody, and you have to shoot through a million guard posts along the way, and the guard respawn by the time you come back. very annoying. i actually gave up on playing it because it was so boring. that and that the game crashed every 15 minutes.
