Asus 4850 fan at powerup

Ok here's the deal. Does someone know if the fan for the asus 4850
should power-up at startup?
Everything is hooked up properly. But the fan does not rotate. I realize that the fan is temperature controlled. But i was still thinking it should rotate at startup

You`re right, most cards tend to spin up their fans to 100% on startup while the card initialises itself but not all. This may just be a feature of the cards BIOS put in by Asus, as many people do find that startup roar an annoyance and concern.
Until someone with an Asus card posts I`d dowload and use Rivatuner to keep an eye on the card temperatures, just in case.
