Not sure how far you'll get, haven't heard of many 9550 overclocks, most people use the 9850/9950 from the original Phenom line up. I'll say you'll reach 3.0 if your lucky, but a 2.6-2.8 is more realistic, but than again I am just guessing based on what little I've heard in the past.

even 2.6 or 2.8 would make this a better gaming chip :D hope it will reach those speeds on air.
thanks for yr reply homie

I'M at 2.4 on air.. didnT try for more.. did not even bother to check the temps.. it is stable, then it is ok for me. maybe 2.5 on air, but not really more, imho..

Check out the reviews online, or just google "Phenom 9550 Overclocking". You have to realize that 9550s are generally Phenom chips that weren't up to snuff to being labeled a 9750 or even a 9650. You will probably only get 2.4-2.5, but it's just gonna depend on your particular sample.

i have a 9550 and i to want more out of it. this is my first attempt at a systematical approach to OC and i was able to get mine 2.7 @1.32volts before temps seemed to be getting high (stock hsf) but it was still stable. I clocked it back down and its been stable at 2.64 running prime for about 8 hours

But its sad to say that my system is still cpu limited because i my gtx460se stock speeds or maxed out clocks gained no fps in bf3
