Been dealing with a annoying homebuild problem for a couple weeks now. Currently, if no RAM is installed, it will give the "no memory" beep code. However, once a stick of memory is in, the system will hang. Supermicro has not tested the memory that I am using on the motherboard I am using, however, they have both tested this memory on similar systems of theirs, and they've sent me an e-mail saying the memory matches all of their specifications.
However, I've tested just about every other possibility. The power supply has been externally tested on another system. It is a dual processor system, and both processors have been tested in each socket independently. I RMA'ed the motherboard (since Supermicro is driving distance from my home), and the second motherboard has the exact same problem. So I can't possibly think of any problem except for the RAM. Is there anything else I should check before RMAing the RAM and trying to get a specifically compatible component? How likely is this to fix the problem?
