Graphic card

i have a q6600 2.4 ghz and my motherboard doesnt have a vga, or dvi but has pci-e x16. im trying to get a xfx 9800 gt, which needs either vga or dvi, but it has x16 slot. what do i do? can i get the card?

Buy the 9800GT if that's what your after. You need to install the 9800GT into the PCIE x16 slot on your motherboard. Don't worry about DVI and VGA on the motherboard, once you get the 9800GT and install it, you'll figure out what to use (almost always DVI). If your after the 9800GT I would suggest looking at getting either XFX or EVGA. Hope that helps.

if you can...get the 9800gtx, its a tiny bit faster and costs a bit more (~$15-$30 more on newegg i think..), the cooler is much better than the one on the 9800gt...save ur eardrums and possibly heat issues :p

You may also want to consider an HD4830. It sells for the same price as the 9800GT but is generally a bit faster and has some useful features that the 9800GT doesn't. As tripper688 suggested however you may be better served by looking at a 9800GTX or HD4850 as they are currently selling for only a few dollars more and are substantially faster.
