Card Selection Help

So there are two somewhat new high end cards the (NVIDIA Geforce GTX 295 and the ATI Radeon 4870X2)
They both cost around $500 but I'm looking to buy in the early fall octoberish. So I will use these cards to play Crysis at 1920 x 1200. Which card is better and why.
If you select a card can you show me proof of your reason or maybe just state a very good explanation of why.

Don't bother looking if you are only looking to purchase in early Fall. Another highend card will have replaced these two by then. Just assume it will be in the same price range.
