Originally was going with Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Then I ran across this one, thoughts on which is better, I can't see any difference except in the cache size - Western Digital Caviar Black D6401AALS 40GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

More cache memory is a good thing.

More cache is "better" but offers negligible performance benefits. Choose based on the price as both are essentially identical for all intents and purposes other than bragging rights.

The AALS has two processors, twice the cache, double motor bearings and a 5 year warranty. All this for $5 more.
