I am looking to upgrade a 2 year old computer. I am wondering whether my motherboard can handle the video card I am looking to buy. Everything seems good except when I get to Expansion slots in my manual for my motherboard. It states I have 1 PCI express x16 slot, 1 PCI express x1 slot, and 2 PCA slots. I am wondering if the Geforce 9800 GT will work in my PCI express slot. The cards says it is PCI express 2.0, and I am wondering if the 2.0 is still compatible with my PCI express slot. Thanks for the help.
I have read that site. And it says Backwards compatible. So I assumed it would work. I am looking for solid clarification before I decide to spend the money, only to have a hassle of sending it back.
Basing that off this line.....Overall, graphic cards or motherboards designed for v2.0 will be able to work with the other being v1.1 or v1.0.

Shouldn't be a problem I got a skt939 board with a 8800GT and it worked fine. My board is an asus a8n-e and no problems at all, you should be fine my board is older than 2yrs.
