In need of a New Card

i'm useing a ati x800 right now...just bought a ps3 last week and got hooked on ut3....i know a little out of date but hey it gives me a break from my wow addection....i was going to start back playing around with the map editor but when it loads it said model shader 2 was not there so i was not able to use my x800...so i thought i would upgrade my video card...what would be a good card to upgrade to for less then $150 BUT still play WOW with no trouble...thxs

Are you running AGP or PCI-E for a graphics card?

The x800 actually supports SM2, it doesn't support SM3. If it only needed 2, it should have worked.

Assuming you have PCIe, the 4830/4850 would be a good bet. If you don't mind Nvidia, look to the 8800/9800GT. These cards should all be near $100-$140, and should be more then enough for an older system.

I agree. You will want to stay in that ballpark. A P4 will start to hinder your graphic performance once you get into the higher cards. Also, what PSU do you have? that will be important as well.

yes it is pci expres...not sure on the psu its all inclosed....its a dell xps gen 3

4830/4850 will be the card for you do get. The 4850 is around $150, the 4830 is just over $100.

/\ I agree on that, even if you cant shell out the 4830 price tag the 4670 still kills it for under 80$ in many games besides the latest and greatest but the aging P4 will hinder any further potential.
