I bought an external hard disk player(plug and play) but I can't see the drive in my disk management.

How do i know if its compatible with my Kohjinsha SH Series laptop?

When i connect to USB,the red light is on the HDD.But i don't think my laptop is reading it.No specific drive.

I tried to format it by following instructions suck as: Control panel-computer management-disk management....still i don't see its drive.

what could be wrong?

help please!

What hard disk is this? Have you tried plugging it into another computer?

Also what OS are you using? You may need to locate drivers for it.
