Did not find a floppy device F1 to continue anyway?

Today I was on my computer and after a windows update I decided to restart my computer. Upon boot up I got a message stating that there was no floppy drive and I can press F1 to continue anyway. The problem is I never got that message before because I always have my floppy device disabled in the bios because I don't use a floppy drive. Anyway I pressed F1, cleared my cmos and re entered my set up and everything is good for now. Why do you think I got the error?

Darned good question!

When you got into the BIOS, was the floppy still marked as disabled?

Which version of Windows? Which motherboard? Installed any motherboard utilities lately? Any BIOS updates?

1. Instead of going back into the bios to check to see if the floppy drive was still marked disabled I just cleared cmos. Thing is I have had this setting from the beginning and have never had this error.
2. Windows Vista 64
3. Asus Rampage formula x48
4. No new motherboard Utilities Lately
5. I have the one before the latest bios but in the asus forums they recommend sticking with the one I have.
