I have a dual LNB DirecTV dish with a Hughes
receiver on each of the two lines.

(1) To add a third receiver can I just use a
2GHz splitter on one of the lines, or is it more
complicated than that?

(2) If I do use a splitter, which kind? Some say
"power passive on all ports," others show a
diode on each of the out ports, and still others
show a diode on one out port and a capacitor on
the other.

(3) If I need to add an in-line amplifier
between the dish and the splitter, does this
affect the choice of splitter?

Any info (including a tutorial for dummies)
would be welcome.
