Needing a little help here I just built this . .

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

Antec - EarthWatts 650-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

POWERCOLOR AX4870 1GBD5-PPH Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory X 2 8 Gig Total

SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders

and everything works fine until I try and run games , I cant even get the low end games to run that dont require half of what I have . . Every game locks up and freezes From Rainbow Six to Crysis. Ive disabled the onboard sound before loading up thinking it was that , but still the same thing . . Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated all the drivers are up to date

I've found the powersupply to be a problem some of them time, or just a bad driver for your video card. Try a different powersupply or vidcard driver version. One at a time of course... make sure you crank up the fan and/or watch the temps of your videocard.

yeah my first guess would be the graphics card overhetaing. if so turn the fan up.

second guess: drivers. try 8.12,8.11 and 8.10... if that doesn't fix it i don't see how any earlier drivers could help

third guess: OS, but i doubt it

fourth guess: PSU.
