First time making my own build.
My specs are at the bottom. Here's the issue: things have been going well so far (after brief hitch with poorly seated processor fan), downloading drivers and basic programs...but now I've started getting a total lock-up of the screen and all processes. On the last three times, once was while downloading a DivX update, twice was while clicking on an icon to open a program on my desktop.
And it's a total freeze....the pointer stops moving, there's not even a hourglass whirling (well, blue circle 'cuz I have vista), and I can't even get a response by cntrl-alt-delete. Nada. So I do a hard shutdown, wait a few, restart...and it's fine for a while, then another freeze after a while.
Is there some diagnostic tool I could run? Does this sound familiar to anyone?
