U are making a big mistake wit ur mobo and GFX card combo...If u are goin wit SLI mobo go for a nvidia card like GTX 216 else change the mobo to X38 or X48 and go wit ur desired ati card....
January 2, 2009 5:22:51 AM

I feel u can reconsider many parts such as RAM and look for a 640GB WD its less than the HDD u have given...

oops, hah :p  i didint even notice... so do you suggest i just change the card? im not sure what to get...
January 2, 2009 5:49:07 AM

Definitely not the best option to pay for an sli mb and use ati gfx .

A p45 mb is a better option , an x 48 if you will definitely add a second gfx card .

Best case on the planet : antec p182

2 x 2 gig of RAM if you have vista 64 bit
January 2, 2009 5:53:33 AM

LOL
January 2, 2009 5:55:17 AM

i agree with the P182, i love that case. a lil expensive tho. ok so now i gotta find a new gfx card i think hu? any suggestions?
January 2, 2009 5:58:16 AM

What budget? and what specs you running now?
January 2, 2009 5:59:42 AM

budget is around 1500ish can.. dont really have specs atm..
January 2, 2009 6:05:11 AM

you said you need a new graphics card, I asked you what is your budget for graphics... $1500????
January 2, 2009 6:06:22 AM

oh i thought u meant for the whole build haha. well im looking at around 400ish?
January 2, 2009 6:08:43 AM

TOP Choices lol, Nvidia side, GTX 280/260 ati 4870x2, 4850x2, 4870 1gb, few different SLI configs or crossfire
January 2, 2009 6:14:10 AM

okay.. well then im thinking the gtx 260, then going sli later on?
January 2, 2009 6:24:25 AM

Well for a 1500$ budget i think u mite consider a core i7 build...

January 2, 2009 6:33:30 AM

well remember its 1500$ canadian.. core i7 chip itself is like 400$, thats 1/4 of my budget, then i have to get a cheaper mobo.. ect ect.. am i right? or no?
January 2, 2009 6:37:15 AM

hmmm....mayb be but i think u can squeeze in ...but better off wit core 2 :p
January 2, 2009 6:38:27 AM

q9950 ? but in never really gona use 4 cores, so its almost a waste of money..
January 2, 2009 6:45:31 AM

More future proof, Ill say this though, I had a q6600 oc'd to 3.2 before the core i7 920@3.8, speedwise lol makes the core 2 look like a $2 crackho imho
January 2, 2009 6:47:31 AM

there is actually that much of a differance? if i get an i7 920, what mobo should i get?
January 2, 2009 6:52:23 AM

Heres a guide PROXIMON made. Might help...

Cause my core I7 build is cheaper and better than your original build right not and that does seem right.

If i was you, get a gigabyte mb, they are cheap and easy to overclock with the CPU. Second, you do not need DDR3 ram right now, way to over expensive and provide little or no performance edge over DDR2. SO get a cheap 2x2 ddr2 ram. Should get the 650gb one is cheaper as mention. And why does your optical drive cost so much? I'm sure you can find cheaper and better ones on newegg. Hope I help somewhat.
