but 3 more gigs of RAM if you have 64 bit Vista
and 4870 x2

wouldn be better have a quad core and having 4gb ram?? maybe i didnt made myself clear but i dont have a monitor yet so i was just saying that i wanted a 24" lcd.

Reply to topo

The core i7 920 is a quad core from the latest intel series of cpu's . Its faster in most things than the fastest core 2 quads .

The motherboards use triple channel RAM , instead of the older dual channel ,for more performances . Choices are 3 x 1 gig kits or 3 x2 gig kits

ok there are some options here
and i forgot to say i ready have an optical drive

Option 1

Antec Nine Hundred $109

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB $79

Acer P243WAid Black-Silver 24" $339

Corsair 750 $119

His 4870 1gb $239

Crucial 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1066 $79

MSI X58 Platinum LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX $214

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz $294

Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler Socket 1366 Ready $60

$1571

Option 2
Antec twelve hundred $214

Q6600 $189 oc to 3.6 if i can

xigmateck hdt-s183 $36

retention bracket $9

asus p5e x38 $229

g.skills 4gb 1066 $55

4870 1gb

Acer 24"(same monitor used in option1) $339

antec tri cool blue led fan $19

corsair 750 $119

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB $80

$1550 (it can be cheaper if i go with antec 900)

I had option 2 in mind but then i start looking at the core i7..
Is it worth it in gaming over the q6600 and having less memory ??i really like the antec 1200 :D :bounce:

any advice??

I agree with the other guys. Go with Tom Hardware's $1250 build and add a good after market cooler and a 4870X2. you could also go with 6GB's of 1333mhz ram.

Reply to joelg88

no but i dont have a monitor yet ,with the monitor i cant afford all that with 1560 :(

Reply to topo

yea because the Tom Hardware's $1250 build is without a monitor and i will be buying an acer 24"
