I do not know how to connect my hp scanjet 5300c I already have a printer connected.

What type of connection does that scanner have? USB or parallel cable? If it is USB you should have other USB ports, so just connect it. If it is parallel, and your prrnter is already connected to the only parallel connector, then you can purchase a PCI card to add another parallel port.
