I'm finally getting around to cobbling together my spare PC parts to make a computer to hook up to my TV for BluRay playback and other HD movies available on the web. My question is, should I pull my 8800GT from my gaming computer (and order an upgrade) and put into this Pc or should I order a card specifically for the HTPC? I've seen several HDCP compliant vid cards for <$100 on NewEgg.

What's the consensus of the community here?

The downside to using your 8800GT is noise and heat. If you have a fairly quiet 8800GT (mines pretty quiet with an aftermarket type fan) and heat isn't an issue in your HTPC system, then jump all over a new GPU for your gaming system. The best of both worlds.
