Can I exchange a scsi for a sata hard drive

My hard drive needs replacing. It is an "ST316082 7AS SCSI" which seems to be a Seagate drive. Most internal drives are advertised as SATA and the ones I have seen as SCSI are extremely expensive.
Can I simply install a SATA drive or what?
