If thats the price difference between the 280 and the 4870 1gig go get the nvidia card. Its worth it .

the kicker is evga has great warranties too, and you wont get f'ed with nvidias drivers grab the 280. i installed it on 2 systems so far both people are extremly pleased.

I've been told that the ATI drivers are a waste too.. so wtf? and also EVGA does that upgrade and replace card thing too.. i have a Nvidia Card right now and its doing fine.. with the most recent drivers..

but its a 7950...

do you have the 1gb or the 896gb? and does the two make any differance? i really want to save some cash.. but want the best and most affordable one.. Crysis, GTAIV, Fallout3, every game that has crazy graphics..

go to a max of 3GB with xp then. it doesnt support more then that. for the rest i would definetly go for the GTX280 you're pc can handle it :)
