Problem with Dish 522 Remote #2 (UHF) -- FIXED

My new Dish 522 (two tuner) receiver worked great for
a few days, then the second TV remote which uses UHF
for transmission from another room starting sporadically
failing -- even when brought near the actual receive (line
of site/same room.)

Batteries, checking the antenna, etc. offered no help.

After talking to Dish once it seemed that "rebooting" might
be clearing it but every day or so, the problem would return.
Just on tuner #2 (never on tuner #1 which uses IR).

The UHF remote would actually work if within 12 inches
of the receiver antenna.

Second call to Dish was almost immediately turned into
a service call BY DISH -- they wanted to send someone to
fix it. Pleasant surprise.

Long story short -- had to swap out the receiver itself (not
the just the remote).

Assuming the (admittedly) intermittent problem doesn't
return: problem solved.

In any case, I am VERY HAPPY with Dish phone and
in HOME support -- DirecTV NEVER did that and always
wanted to charge me for new receivers.
