Best wireless adapter for gaming

So I have had an Edimax Wireless N adapter card and connecting to a Linksys N router for awhile now. The speeds of it are great, but when I'm playing games I often get lag spikes at the worst times. So bad to the point where I stopped playing this specific game because of it. I have had a linksys wireless card that didn't have as good of speeds, but I didn't get nearly as many lag spikes. Is there any specific wireless adapter (preferrably N speed) that you guys have found to be good to use with games? I hate the lag spikes!
