I have a Phenom 2 and a DFI Lan Party mobo. Vistas does not recognise the CPU and neither does sites like srtest.

After a bit of research I think I may need to update my BIOS to make sure the mobo fully supports the new Phenom 2 CPU. I have never done this before and have read it can destroy your system.

I think I have the right update from the DFI site but it doesnt explain how I update it. So how do I do it?

Will any programs like ABS allow for BIOS updating, or is that just overclocking?

Thanks.

Check the cd that came with your mobo there is usually a program for that purpose and sometimes a text file listing programs and their functions and sometimes the usage thereof you probably have an Award bios the program you need is called flash or something like that, you may also be able to flash from windoze just point the flasher to where you have the xxx.bin file, may have to extract it from a zip or rar..:)
