Hey guys, I'm having an issue with a rig I just built yesterday. I've flashed the bios to the newest version prior to loading the OS (required to be compatible with my processor). The problem I am running in to is the system will not post if I have all 4 sticks of ram inserted into the system. The keyboard/mouse do not light up and I don't even make it to a bios startup screen. I can load the computer fine with any combination of ram grouped in either the first 2 or last 2 slots. Any ideas? My box details are below.
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
Biostar TA790GX 128M Mobo
AMD Phenom II 740 3.0 GHZ CPU
AllComponents 2GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM (x4)
Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870 1GB DDR5 RAM GPU
Rosewill 630W PSU
Western Digital 500gb HD
Rule out a bad ram module by trying them one at a time in slot A1. If computer boots on each of the four tests, well, sounds like a motherboard problem...
