My system
: CPU E6850 3GHZ, Ram 4 GB 1066Mhz, mobo Asus P5KC, PSU Zalman 600W, Samsung 22'',windows xp SP2.
I will sell my vga card XFX GTX 260 xxx edition for 220€, to buy a GTX 285. My question is: My mobo supports PCI-E 1 and the new card is PCI-E 2. Will i have problem with the bandwith? I mean half of the power of the card will be lost?
P.S. 1 sorry for my poor english
P.S. 2 am i see big difference between the 2 cards. The upgrade will cost me 100€.
P.S. 3 My PSU Zalman 600W is enough for this card?
A) Its ok most of us cant be arsed to spell properly.
B) You'll see a marginal increase but i dont think its worth a 100euros.
C) Your Psu fine to handle it.
D) Its up to you and i wish you the best of luck
------------------------------If you're falling off a cliff you might as well try to fly, you don't have much to lose...
you got 1680x1050 resolution? your GTX260 its one supercharge card for this resolution
Not really....I have a eVGA GTX260 216 55nm at 740/1080 and Crysis gets a solid 40fps at 1680x1050 so it's not really overkill per say, but he wont' see any major increases until he goes for a GTX295.
Well i play at 1680X1050 all in very high details and i have over 45 fps. Only in Crysis i get 37 fps.
The reason i post this thread is if my mobo will bottleneck my card because its PCI-E 1 and the card is PCI-E 2.
Also i am only give 100€ for this upgrade.
From your answers maybe i will keep my XFX GTX 260 xxx vga card.
