I have been unable to crossfire my two ASUS EAH 4870 cards since 8.11, works fine in 8.10. These are the second revision of the cards from asus, the ones with the Glaciator fansink instead of the plastic wind tunnel type cooler. This issue is back again in 9.1.
I am rather certain this is a bios issue with the cards.. ati seems to have said as much but is unable to give me a driver that works. The issue is quite simple... under no circumstances with any driver 8.11 and on will there be a crossfire option, it is not there at all.. everything works fine, no errors, just no option to CF.
If anyone has any tips on how to get a newer driver working.. or a new bios for the cards (my revision is "VER011.007.000.000.029744" dated 2008/08/12) I would be grateful.

Well my crossfire setup is working fine. I have dual 4870s. What I would tell you to check out is get GPU-z. Then I would also get the new catalyst. Then make sure that you completely uninstall your drivers and restart and then try to install the new stuff and then restart again. Other than that if those things don't work. Test the cards individually. You may have a dead slot. Also when you overclocked your rig did you change the pci-e speeds or did you leave them the same. Also did you clock the northbridge voltgage up a little. Many possible issues.
