what computer should i get

hi im down to 2 computers for gaming( ETOW, steam).

(both computers are from a near by computer store)

the fist computer (computer 1) is costume built with
core 2 quad (2.33 Ghz)
4GB of ram
320GB of hard drive
and an HD 4850 video card
this all costs $731

or

the second computer is a pre-built computer with
AMD x2 4850e(2.5Ghz)
4GB of ram
500GB Hard drive
and it comes with GeForce 8200( i know it sucks so i am going to upgrade it to a HD 4850 as well)
this all comes with a monitor and speakers (my monitors acting up when i log on and my speakers don't work
this is the monitor:

1st one by a huge amount. If the 2nd had a Phenom II then that'd swing it but in that match up the quad wins quite comfortably. Much better graphics card too.

The first choice is certainly a better gaming machine. The second would be a good low cost, low power office or internet machine.

The second machine is a piece of sh**

 

Go for the first? I don't why this would be a consideration.
