I recently purchased a 512MB SD Memory card for my IPAQ
5555. I also purchased a card reader/writer for my PC.
When I transfer music using Windows Media Player 9
directly to the SD memory card in my PC reader (in the "My
Documents" folder). I can listen to the transfered music
while the SD memory is still attached to my PC. When I
insert the SD Memory into my IPAQ and run Media Player 9 i
get the following message:
"The license for this file is not valid. Use Windows
Media Player on your PC to copy the file again."
The weird thing about this is that I can transfer the
music to the IPAQ's SD memory succesfully when it is
docked and running ActiveSync using Media Player 9 on the
PC. The problem with that type of transfer is that it is
SLOW.
In both cases I can find the DRMv1PM.lic file on the SD
memory, so I know it is creating a license file on my SD
memory either way.
Has anyone been able to transfer WMA music files to a SD
chip and listen to the music on their IPAQ??

this is because the file was encoded on your desktop pc with the PROTECTION
function of windows media play ON, when you put it off (look at the options)
you can share your files to anyone. Otherwise you'll only able to listen to
your music on your desktop, and that was not the meaning i suppose...
Hope i helped you out :-)

It's right. You have to turn off protection from Desktop.
Bye
