hey guys, this is my first post on any sort of hardware tech-house, and boy is it a doozy. so i just bought a new system, compnents are as follows:

Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard
AMD PhenomII x3 720 Triple Core CPU
XMS3 DHX DDR3 RAM (2 x 2 Gigs)
Sapphire 100245 Radeon 4850
Rosewill RP550V2-S-SL 550W ATX12V v2.01 SLI Ready Power Supply

i am currently at stock settings, but i HAVE overclocked.

and my problems are thusly:

i get the atikmdag display error, also...

even when i dont get the actual error, sometimes the cursor will get real big and pixley, as though ONLY the resolution on the cursor were turned way down, to like 800x600, but the monitor resolution stays the same, and generally a short time after that, the screen will start to flicker and the system will get really really choppy, like unusable choppy, and i have to reboot.

any pointers?
