I am installing (for my first time ever) an MA790GP-UD4H motherboard and it calls for 9 standoffs and there is only 8. Will i be ok leaving one out and if so which one should leave out ? I am jut putting in my Phenom II x3 720 on right now so a quick reply would be great !

I doubt that it matters; in mechanical terms, I would probably go with one of the center posts closest to the back of the PC.

Most cases have screw holes for installing posts in various patterns. Assuming your's does as well, why not run out and pick up a pacakge of posts and/or steal one from a buddy's PC. :)

I know the "I can't wait any longer!" feeling all too well. Consider however that once you put it all together you are not going to want to disassemble everything in order to add the missing post (not to mention that each time we assemble/disassemble there is a risk of mechanical/electrical damage.
