hey guys, i recently purchased an E8500 3.16ghz with a gigabyte ep45-ds4p and a seagate 500gb sata 32mb.
i loaded everything onto the hdd only to realise that when i try to play music/videos and most importantly games it just freezes. i have absolutely no idea what could be causing this. i have correct drivers for my graphics card.
my computer specs are
E8500
Gigabyte EP45-DS4P
500GB SEAGATE SATA 32MB
600W TOUGH POWER THERMALTAKE
4GB (2X2) KINGSTON DDR2 800MHZ
ANTEC 900
Go into BIOS setup, then MB Intelligent tweaker. System memory multiplier will probably show (SPD) [Auto], and Memory Frequency 800 800. If so then change the memory multiplier so that the frequency now shows 800 667. (I think gigabyte boards use 2:1 to get there). Doing this will sync the memory to the FSB and not require higher ram voltages. This is just a guess but it worked for me.
