I've tried booting up with 2 sticks of RAM, 1 stick, all in different places, and still no hope, the monitor keyboard and mouse continue to stay off/standbye. So I was curious what I could test to determine whats the problem, I have no other rig to test each part seperately, I could only suspect it's my Mobo, but what do I know D:

PC specs:

cpu: Intel quad core Q8200
mobo: Gigabyte GA-p35-S3G
GFX: NVIDIA 8800GTX
RAM: Corsair Dominator ~ four 1GB sticks
PSU: Winpower 750WATT
Vista ultimate 64bit

I'm trying to find out how to test to see if my CPU works, I remember something about plugging speakers into a socket to hear for beeps.

I have an ASUS P5K mobo and I'm considering installing it into my PC, first time I've tried something like that but would be interesting to do so.

Thanks in advance and sorry if anything sounded a bit 'dumb', I guess everyone has to start somewhere heh.

I've been told that my PSU is fairly crap and so I'm getting a Corsair PSU.

But along these lines I was curious, are there any guides that help you install Mobo's and connect the peripherals to them? Or should I be turning to my ASUS P5k manual for that? Thanks.
