Where to put the jumper needed for connecting a usb sata2 as a sata1
(so far my computer does not recognize the drive, )

  1. You probably don't need a jumper. Have you used Disk Management to partition and format the drive? Start -> right-click "Computer" -> Manage -> Disk Management
