Yesterday I sent a friend of mine (3000 miles away) my old Dell 435mt. When she turns the computer on, everything inside the computer turns on except the video card. The motherboard light turns on and the fans and LED's all work properly. They only thing that won't work is the video card. The computer also beeps, which, according to the EVGA manual, indicates a bad card, bad motherboard, or card not being seated properly.

The video card is a EVGA GTX 260 216 core. The power supply is a Corsair 650TX. The motherboard is a generic Dell Core i7 board with only 1 pci-express slot.

She has tried putting her old graphics card in (which is currently running properly in her comp), reinstalling the 260 several times to ensure proper seating, but everything she tried results in the same problem. No power to the video card.

Another problem is that the board does not have onboard graphics. And even if it did, it would have been disabled for the card. So I don't know how I can get into the BIOS if we'd have to.

The computer ran perfectly for me in the 6 weeks I had it. I tested everything thoroughly before shipping and it was running flawlessly. I made sure all connections were tight and there were no loose cables and ends. I shipped the comp overnight so it took just over 24 hours for her to receive it. I am not going to blame UPS for damaging it because my friend told me the computer was very very well packaged and the box showed no signs of any damage.

Is there anything else I can do to confirm whether or not I am dealing with a bad board or power supply or something else?

Thanks,

Coconuts
