should i get one? my board is maximus extreme. i dont know if the sound card bundled with the mobo is really an onboard sound on an separate chip?

It really depends on your speakers or headphones. If you've got 5.1 or above, it's definitely worth it. Otherwise, stick with your motherboard.

For gaming only, I have the Z5500, would you pair it with a Titanium Pro or Auzentech Forte?
