hello everyone. i have a phenom 2 720 over clocked to 3.5 ghz. i thought it was stable ,but i just tryed to run prime 95 and it says on the third core. 1 error worker has stopped. now this happen to me before when i unlocked my cores. i unlocked them to run a benchmark and thats it. the third core kept dieing but the fourth was still going with the other ones. so im confused as to why this is happening. :fou:

I dont have a AMD myself but what ive read about it it sounds that you have a bad 3rd core and a good 4th core.

try disabling the 3rd core and try prime with cores 1,2 and 4 see if that works

vid--asus 1 gb dark night 4870
cpu-- phenom 2 720 be over clocked to 3.5
i only over clocked from the multiplier.

ht link 2200 mghz
core voltage 1.472
nb frequency - 2200 mghz
all the stuff is at stock voltage excep the cpu

my temps at load are around 30 c idle 14-25.c

try tuning it with amd overdrive...
there should be some options in the bios for tuning individual cores..do a through search.......or elso post an screen shot of each page of bios options.......

looks like the two disabled cores are not that reliable........lock them down, buy an aftermarket cooler.and overclock ur cpu to the max............

Or put it back to default settings use bios optimized defaults and run prime 95 on the 3 cores that should be there. If that passes go up to 3.0 try that, once you get an error it's time to back it down.
The hyperthread default is 2000 not 2200, generally you have to raise the voltage on that individual setting as well as the cpu.
You can use AOD to determine what settings it can handle without you influencing it. Then you can use manual to achieve those in bios and test that.
Just for your info my 720 can go to 3.5 at stock voltage 1.325 or just alittle bump 1.38v, I think 1.47v is just too high or not neccessary at that clock.
If you watch AOD it will adjust voltage to determine whether it helps or not.
good luck
