Hi all, having only just thought about it, have I bought the worng OS?

I got Vista 32bit for my new system, specs:

Core i7 920
Asus P6T
GeForce 280GTX
6GB (3x2GB) OCZ DDR3 1333Mhz RAM

Should I get 64bit Vista? I completey forgot about multiple gigs of ram and 32bit OS problems. I am right in thinking that even though Vista can "see" all the ram, I cant use more than 3.5ish gigs of it?

Any help would be great!!

Yeah, wrong OS bro. That 6 GB of RAM is gonna be wasted on a 32 bit OS. By "wasted" I mean not utilized.

In full disclosure... I use 64 bit Vista and love it. Zero blue screens or system crap-outs in 6 months of use.

I didn't think this was possible. Is there a catch? I bought a Vista 32 system builder OEM copy when I built my current system. Is this only available if you purchased a retail version of Vista 32?

Unfortunately, yes. You must have purchased the retail version.

Maybe, but they will ask to verify your existing version with your DVD code when you buy the new version.
(which you are not actually buying, they are only charging you for shipping/handling)
I don't think you will be able to activate both of them, it would be like trying to install your current version on 2 PC's and trying to activate both of them, it won't work.
