Dear all,

I have installed win xp on my laptop HP DV9760ED. I have also installed all drivers. Only the microphone doesn't work.

For information the connexant HD audio output is working good, so i can listen to sounds.

Can you help me with this problem.

Than you very much

Dear Saga,

Thank you for your answer, I did exactly what you said but it still doesn't work. by microphone it gives me only one choice ( conexant high definition input) and i cant change it.

Help please I need it to talk with my family, I miss them :'(

check your windows volume settings for mic
right click the speaker icon in tray > open volume control > options > properties > select recording radio button > hit ok > check that microphone bar is all the way up

All I can think of is that it's plugged in the wrong socket - on my sound card it's hard to tell the difference between the pink of the microphone socket and the sort of salmon colour of one of the others that I don't normally use. If your laptop is one of those with built-in microphone, try adding an external. Have you run the Microsoft hardware test in Sounds and Audio Devices?
