I just upgraded my system memory and decided for a couple of Kingston's 1GB ddr 400 pc3200(had 2x 512mb before), hoping to take advantage of the dual channel technology. The thing s, I'm not sure f I should just get rid of the 2 older memory sticks (512) and keep the 2GB only, or if I should have 4 sticks running, making it 3 GB (but then I guess I won't have dual channel thing)
Considering I use this computer mainly to play strategy/manager games, I thought it would be better to upgrade the memory instead of the video card, even though I may upgrade it in the near future as well. My goal is basically to reduce the load/saving time/processing time/memory crashes.

Do you mean that the system is crashing because of memory errors? If not, then as long as the system is stable, install 3 GB of RAM. The maximum that I ever had in mine before giving it away was 4 x 256 MB which were replaced by 2 x 1 GB Kingston PC3200.

No it's not, just every now and then, but I guess it's normal. These games are buggy sometimes, specially in early versions. Will try that, but someone told me that I should only put 2x 1GB.
I've got Everest installed in my machine, maybe I could try to find a way to evaluate the memory performance. Thanks!
