Hi!
Please suggest me as I am assembling a new PC. I am going for AMD 7750 BE. But I am not able to figure out right motherboard for it. I would go for nVidia GTS 250 graphics gard (Is it good? I am not an avid gamer but would watch HD movies and may edit them.). And DDR2 RAM - I saw in some forumthat 800 Mhz would slow down performance. So should I go for 1066? And what motherboard should I buy. And folks, a DVI-D port on the motherboard is needed. Please help. I am on a tight budget so please consider that.
Thanks.

I am from India, dear! The shipping cost would be more than the Corsair Twins!

I would look at the Biostar TA-790gx board, about $100 US. It would provide an upgrade path for phenom II, it has onboard video so you could decide if thats good enough for your uses. Then if you need more power for games you could invest in a video card when ready.
Look for combo deals with the ram, or processor. that can save you a few bucks.

I personally think OCZ ram is pretty damn good, I would recommend ddr2 1066. I originally went with ddr2 800 with my Phenom 9850, and ended up buying 1066 ram and definitely saw an improvement. The 7750BE and 9850BE are similar architectures, could be wrong but I think they use the same kind of memory controller. Anyway, no reason to not go with the 1066Mhz speed, prices will be about the same..

India? I'd say look for any 790gx board then, or if you can't find that go for a 780g motherboard. The 780 G is also an onboard video chipset, just a little slower than the 790gx. Either one should suit your needs.

Thank you buzz.
OK. If I go for a 790G chipset, then I can add a nVidia card later.
Which all brand would you suggest besides Biostar?

And I surely want a DVI-D port on the motherboard for my LCD monitor. Will I get it?

On nVidia GTS 250 graphics card, I think it must be there.

Biostar 790gx: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813138130

Same thing in micro atx: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813138140

Asrock MOtherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813157141

ASUS, a little bit pricier but good quality: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131368

These all have dvi.

Before buying a video card, make sure you have a power supply which can handle it. I recommend for amd motherboards going with an ati video card. In this case, you will have ati drivers for the onboard video, and then put nvidia drivers on top of that. It can be done that way, but I have less driver issues with AMD motherboard/ATI video card.

Read the reviews and take a look at this card, the HD 4770

There are reviews about this card on Toms and it is an incredible amount of power in a $100 package. Although it may be difficult to find in stock currently, it holds its own against the Gts250.

oh, and if you really are insistent on the nvidia card, you could pair it with an nvidia board for around the same $100US price range.
