GTX 280 cheap WOW!!!

I just saw on newegg an EVGA GTX 280 gpu for $304.00 after rebates. I thought I would post it in case anyone is interested thats a smoken deal. I think I will get that and let the GTX 295 get the bugs out for 6 mos or so.

I bought a SSC GTX 260 Core 192 (1264-AR) for $170 from buy.com a week ago. Is that a comparable deal?

Definitely a good deal for the 260, although some people will criticize you for not getting a 216sp, but from tests I've seen the difference is minimal(3-6fps)

Any higher end card like that for $170 is a superb deal. I see much less powerful cards going for $150 still. Nice catch.

What about a VisionTek Radeon HD4650 512mb with crossfire for $115, I really don't know if thats a great card for the price, or if the card is not that good at all. I know it smokes the onboard 512mb i was using for games.

I saw a 280 SSC on the egg for $319.00 24hr special this morning, they are really trying to clear inventories before the new cards release. What are these new cards supposed to be? I mean are they a huge jump or a miniscule one? I would think the 55nm wold have better cooling but Im not sure how much performance gains we will see over what is currently out there. Im sure the GTX 295 will be impressive but I am wondering how hot it will run the HD4870x2 runs hot from what I have read.

Not to mention that the 4870x2 is starting to also drop. The Sapphire one is going for 449.99USD on newegg right now. I can't wait to see where their prices will be in a couple months from now.

Early benchmarks favor the GTX 295 to take over the top spot from ati's 4870x2. These benchmarks might favor nvidia slightly but non the less the results don't lie. I'm really looking forward to the GTX 295 if they can sell it at MRSP $499 (even lower they said is a possiblity). I'll believe it when i see it however. Wonder what ati has coming out to compete. Hopefuly they don't fall far behind again like they did when nvidia released the 8800's.

Well I guess we will see tomorrow when it is supposed to be released. I read somewhere there was going to be a 285 also but nobody is talking about that one. I am in a holding pattern because I really like the sound of that 295. So I am waiting on getting the GTX280 till I see what the 295 costs, then there is the growing pain issues with it so Im lost.
