Gonna power this:

phenom 2 720
gtx 260 c216
m4a78pro mobo
2x2 GB (2.1v 4-4-4-12) patriot ram
Antec 900 2 120mm led + 200m fan

Probably will be OC everything(ram, cpu, gfx)

Should i go with the Corsair VX550 or just spend 25$ more and get the TX 650.

+1, The Corsair series are nice and the 650TX would be a great chioce if you were doing upgrades in the future.

A single GTX 260 video card uses about 192 watts and 16 amps at load.

The Corsair TX650 has a single large +12 volt rail rated at 52 amps. It can easily handle your system and overclocking. In fact, it can handle two GTX 260 video cards operating in SLI mode (32 amps at load). If you are only going to use one video card, then it might be overkill.

The Corsair VX550 also has a single large +12 volt rail but it is rated at 41 amps. To be honest, this unit is all you really need.

DellUser - Hold on just a second. aford1 and the chart are both correct.... kind of sort of. Aford10 did not exactly mention load. According to that Corsair chart the TX650 exceeds 80% efficiency anywhere between 20% and 100% of load. It just happens to peak at 50% of load. Dip below 20% of load and efficiency drops below 80%. I was kind of surprised to see 80% efficiency at 20% load. I'm going to have to go back and check the technical review over at JonnyGuru.com.

The real question is whether the TX650 is overkill for the OP's system.

That's pretty much what it takes to get the 80+ rating. ( 80% efficiency at 20, 50, and 80% load when tested )
The OP's written specs will put him in the 50% load* area of a 650 watt unit, higher if he's an overclocker.
The 550TX wouldn't be a bad choice, but again power supplies are most efficient at around 50% load not 80, the 650w shouldn't be considered overkill.

* peak load when stressing both the cpu and gpu
