Hello

After searching the internet for about a week i was enable to find any review of Gskill F3-12800CL6T 6Gb Pi .

My question is that i have Ga x58a UD7 Motherboard and in the manual it is written 6 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM Sockets .
But the ram which i mention above is 1.6V and is not mention in Gigabyte supported memory in the websites instead Gskill F3-12800CL7T 6GbPi
which operates at 1.5V.

So the CL6T is good buy as it has Cas Latency 6-8-6-20-2N at 1.6V Or

Cl7T which as Cas Latency 7-8-7-24 at 1.5V.

the price of both the kit is almost same .

plss Help as i am worried

Solution
The manual talks about the standard DDR3 Specs:800, 1066 or 1333mhz @ 1.5v..1600mhz kits are overclocked, so they need more voltage than 1.5v, at least most of them ! But as I said 1.65v is fine and should cause no problem on the X58 and P55 platforms.

It is well known that the absolute upper limit for RAM Voltage under core i7 is 1.65v...So 1.6v is safe, but personally I went with the 1600mhz 7-8-7-20 kit for my Rampage II Extreme, and it's a good kit, it ran @ 1378mhz Cas6 for a while, now running @ 1734mhz 8-8-8-24 1,51v ! I really like the low voltage this kit can run at, and the performance difference between Cas 6 and 7 is negligable, that's why I didn't try pushing it to the limit, which might be amazing if I raise the voltage.

Hi,

Can i set SMP profile to use permanetly? I am using i7-930/X58A-UD7 mobo. I want to have higher cycle for faster response to use with audio/video editing using Adobe CS5 production premium.

Can I default the XMP profile to cycle RAM at 1600? Will that withstand for long running hours say for about 12 hours to encode HD video?

Any help!

Thanks
viku
