Start windows normally xp hangs

Hi sir,

i have p4 interl 845gl motherboard... when I turn ON my desktop pc, i am getting boot options Safe
mode, Safe mode with networking, Safe mode with command prompt or last
known good confiuration , start windows normally.

i pressed windows normally but it hangs there itself... I also tried safe but the same thing .... one of the other suggested to perfomrm memtest and hard disk check ... both the memtest and hdd tool got passed... but still iam getting start windows normally and the pc hangs and do not enter into the desktop.... please help me WHAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM?..

If you have an XP CD, pop that in and boot from it then go as far as the first offer of a repair. At the Command Prompt, type chkdsk /r (including the space) and press Enter. Let the five stage process complete and try a normal boot again.
