  1. In windows explorer, right-click on the drive letter, and select properties. That should give you an idea.
  2. After C: drive (OS, some programs), Windows assigns drive letters to the CD/DVD drives, and then to internal HDDs, USB flash drives, External HDDs, and other devices.

    For details, or to change a drive letter, go to Device Manager, then select the drive, right click and change drive letters as desired.

    Unless you change the drive letters to your desired letters, Windows will assign sequential letters.
