So, for one reason or another i happen to have two processors on hand right now. A Penryn 2.53 Ghz 6MB Cache and a Merom 2.6 Ghz 4MB Cache. I want to put one of them in my new laptop, but I am not quite sure which is better. So which is better and why(so that i can learn more)? Please and thank you ^^v.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing the T7800 is 65nm while you state the T9400 is 45nm. Even though the T9400 has a slightly slower clock speed, from the die shrink to 45nm and the increased L2 Cache it will perform a little better than the T7800 and should also consume less power meaning longer battery life. Use the T9400.
