Im leaning towards the XFX side on this one but EVGA offers a step-up program which is something to consider.
Now the XXX edition (670/2500) costs $30 more than the stock (648/2480). Im not sure whether I should shed out the money for an overclocked card or get the standard and overclock it myself. The BLACK ED. of the card is way too much for my budget which is at $400 bucks including shipping. Usually it costs me around $21 max for shipping either of these cards.
And its not available on the site Im ordering from.
So which is my best choice?
Others to consider are:
Sapphire 4850x2 2GB
Palit 4870 Dual Sonic Edition
These cards are a bit harder to find. Not available on the site as those cards listed above.
I'd lean towards the EVGA. I like their support and step up program.
90 days though is a short period of time. Id be getting a GTX285 which will replace my 8600GT Sonic +. I will see a big difference no doubt despite which card I actually get on the list. But 90 days Im sure I will not be looking for a better card. So I could live without that option. But it does sound nice doesnt it? LOL. If only I wasnt going to upgrade anything else than just my videocard.
I do plan on going i7 from my Q6600 machine. So In the 90 days that would be what I save up for. If only it was STEP UP ANYTIME. Id definitely bite. Who wouldn't hehe
