Samsung T260 26" monitor which GPU??

The resolution will be 1920x1200 I don't really want to spend 500 on the GTX 295 unless I absolutly have to. The system is an I7 6gig ram 750G hard drive in a HAF This and the ram are the last 2 things I need to pick

Take a look at the gtx 280. They are like $300 bucks at newegg.com right now. Probally best bang for your buck card for your setup i'd say. If that's still to expensive, look into the 4850, 4870, gtx 260. I probally won't go much lower than that though.

nah you'll be fine if you want to pick up the ssc version. Probally the best vendor would be evga. Your case will give your card plenty of room to breathe. Just do your best to keep the cables cleaned up.

Well if you plan on doing some heavy overclocking go with the dominator series. Otherwise i'd go with the G.Skill ram or the muskin (old forum favorite i'd say). I don't think you could go wrong with the G.Skill ram or the muskin, probally pick the cheaper of the two. All the ram choices you are choosing between in general are very good.

If you're going with G.Skill, look at these two instead:

1. Pi Black

2. DDR3-1600, CL 8

Go with the tightest timings for your intended speed, at the best price.

I have read that the voltage is critical with the I7. As for OC maybe a little if any I will be running the stock heatsink since oc is not an issue. If I get the GTX 280 SSC or the new GTX 285 (I can't find anything on it yet) this system will be very stable(i hope) and have some longevity for what we are going to use it for

GTX285 doesn't come out till jan 15th (might be 18th...can't remember). The GTX 295 however has come out and is about $500 @ newegg.com. Looks to be the pick of the little right now when it comes to gpus.

Well the 285 will most likely be $450.00 or so I think I will go with the GTX 280 and do the evga upgrade thing later on after they get the drivers all squared away

That acutally sounds like a pretty good plan if your dedicated to doing it. And even if your not, the GTX 280's right now are very nicely priced. Getting a good bang for your buck deal.

When you say you already have the psu i'm assuming you mean you have it in hand. Meaning your not ordering it. (if you are just ordering it then your psu is overkill. drop down to the 750w verison and save yourself $100 bucks.)

Everything else looks to be good to me. check for combo deals at newegg. Think there is a few of them you might be able to take advantage of. cpu + mb, and ram + vidoe card, case + psu. Might influence some changes.

Some minor polishing here:

If capacity is not an issue for you, I'd suggest the Caviar Black 640GB instead of 750GB, because the 640 is faster due to its higher platter density over the 750.

GTX 285 will be priced at USD $400, on Jan 15. Not sure if you want to factor it into your plans (or if you can wait), but the "clear out deals" on the GTX 280s right now are a pretty good value. Just make sure that you can do the step-up from 280 to 285 (i.e. read EVGA's step up plan very carefully first).

GTX 285 also has the advantage of running cooler because of its die shrink, so if you want to SLI in the future, it will help you on the cooling aspects.

As per kubes, not sure if you already have that PSU, but I'd go with the Corsair 850TX--single rail, all you need. Only get the 1000HX for tri-SLI purposes, but of course your P6T Deluxe cannot run tri-SLI for dual slot video cards anyway, so the 1000HX is not money well spent.

Man I am mad yesterday buy.com was selling GTX 280's for $221.00 ea if I would of known that I would of bought 2 . hopefully they do it again. Do you think the stock HSF is fine if not oc or should I get the nocuta?

There are plenty of GTX 280s sitting in warehouses just waiting to get cleared out... have patience!

If you're not going to OC, then just use the stock cooler if you need to save a bit of money.

However, it's always nice to have a good heatsink. Given that there are so few to choose from right now (although the TRUE 1366 is great), it wouldn't hurt to wait if you are not going to OC right away. Just remember that for any good heatsink, you will need to install a backplate, but luckily for you, the HAF case has a cutout behind the CPU so you may be able to install a backplate without removing the mobo from the case. Just check the alignment of the cutout first because it may not line up exactly.

I think as we get closer to the 15 the prices will start to go down even further. I really don't have a budget but if I don't need to spend it I won't plus I want to see the price of the GTX 285 when it comes out
