So here it comes, I've narrowed my decisions for a motherboard to two boards: the DFI LANParty JR P45 T2RS and the Asus P5Q-EM

DFI LANParty JR P45 T2RS

pros:
Crossfire
Overclockable

cons:
8gigs system memory cap
PCI-e slots cap at 8x

Asus P5Q-EM

Pro:
PCI-e running at 16x
16gigs system memory cap

cons:
no crossfire

how big of a deal is crossfire to you? or more importantly, what are the odds that you're ever going to need more than 8GB of ram within this computer's usable lifespan? i don't see computers needing that much ram until after the rest of the computer's hardware would be obsolete and DDR2 prices will be as high as DDR1 prices are now.
